Alpine Flooring is an established and growing flooring company based in Newtown Square, PA, serving homeowners, and builders throughout the greater Philadelphia area. In business since 1998, we specialize in high-quality hardwood flooring installation, refinishing, repairs, and luxury vinyl installation.

This is NOT an entry-level position. Previous construction or flooring estimating experience is required.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience preparing construction or flooring estimates
• Can read blueprints, calculate measurements, and accurately determine project costs
• Has strong attention to detail and time-management skills
• Is comfortable communicating directly with homeowners and builders
• Works efficiently and can manage multiple estimates at once
• Is willing to learn our systems, procedures, and flooring-specific processes
• Takes initiative, accepts feedback, and works well with a team

What You'll Do

• Conduct in-home estimates, including taking measurements, assessing project conditions, and discussing project scopes with customers
• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
• Perform accurate square-footage takeoffs and material calculations
• Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for residential and builder projects
• Complete estimates within company deadlines, with a goal of 48-hour turnaround
• Identify potential project challenges and communicate findings to management
• Maintain organized and accurate estimating records and customer documentation
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, and internal team members
• Follow up with customers regarding outstanding proposals
• Work closely with the Estimation Manager to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Learn and follow Alpine Flooring's estimating standards and procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience in construction or flooring estimating is required
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
• Experience performing measurements, material takeoffs, and cost calculations
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and adapt to company procedures
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Flooring estimating experience is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of hardwood flooring installation, refinishing, and luxury vinyl
• Residential construction or remodeling experience
• Experience working with builders and general contractors

How You'll Be Measured (KPIs)

• Timeliness: 90% or more of estimates completed within 48 hours
• Accuracy: Minimal estimating errors, omissions, or revisions
• Organization: Complete and accurate project documentation
• Customer Experience: Professional and timely communication
• Productivity: Ability to consistently manage weekly estimate volume
• Development: Willingness to learn, improve, and apply feedback
