What they need

General Manager, Construction & Operations

Remote | HQ: Hudson, WI | 50%+ Travel

About the Company

A data-center-only infrastructure specialist handling construction, electrical installation, and live-environment work where downtime isn’t an option. Their standard: it’s right, or we make it right. The company operates in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest and is expanding into Columbus, Indianapolis, and Dallas.

The Role

Our client, a growing infrastructure specialist serving mission-critical data centers, is hiring a General Manager to lead its construction division. The division delivers security caging, containment, conveyance, and power work inside live data center environments. This is a leadership role, not a project management role. You will partner directly with the Owner and Integrator, own the division’s P&L, and build the systems, team, and subcontractor network that support the company’s growth. There is a clear path to broader operational leadership as the business scales.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the construction division and connect office operations with field execution
  • Own division P&L, including estimating accuracy, budget performance, and margin protection
  • Serve as the primary contact for key client accounts and identify new opportunities
  • Build and maintain a subcontractor network that can scale with project demand
  • Develop the processes, tools, and vendor relationships needed for growth
  • Own and enforce the safety program across all active sites

What You Bring

  • Extensive construction management experience (10+ years preferred)
  • At least 3 years of P&L responsibility for a division or business
  • A track record of building team structure and accountability
  • Ability to travel nationally 50% or more, with higher travel during peak project periods

Preferred Experience:

  • Mission-critical or data center construction experience
  • EOS (Traction) experience
  • Established mission-critical subcontractor network

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.
