Construction Inspector - QA/QC

We’re looking for a hands-on Construction Inspector —The ideal candidate will have firsthand experience inspecting earthwork/soils, concrete, and reinforcing steel (rebar) and will be comfortable identifying issues, documenting findings, and working directly with construction teams in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of ongoing construction activities.
• Inspect earthwork, excavation, grading, subgrade, soil placement, and compaction activities.
• Inspect concrete operations, including preparation, placement, testing, and finished work.
• Inspect reinforcing steel/rebar for placement and compliance prior to concrete pours.
• Verify construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, quality requirements, and applicable codes.
• Review drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Document inspection findings through daily reports, photographs, field records, and electronic reporting systems.
• Identify and document deficiencies or work that does not conform to project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, project management, and QA/QC personnel to resolve quality concerns.
• Review applicable material testing and inspection results.
• Assist with punch-list and closeout activities as required.
• Maintain organized and accurate inspection documentation throughout the project.

Qualifications

• Construction inspection, civil inspection, QA/QC, or construction materials testing experience preferred.
• Demonstrated field experience inspecting earthwork/soils, concrete, and rebar/reinforcing steel.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Experience with soil/compaction and concrete testing is highly desirable.
• ACI certification or related construction inspection/testing certifications preferred.
• TxDOT, ICC, NICET, field-density, or similar certifications are a plus.
• Comfortable using computers and electronic systems for daily reporting, documentation, photographs, and inspection tracking.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with contractors and project teams.
• Previous airport, transportation, heavy civil, infrastructure, or large-scale construction project experience is a plus.
