Owner-Side Construction Interface Manager – Major Capital Project

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Contract: Long-Term Contract, potential for 5 years

Work Arrangement: Remote work before moving to Richmond, Virginia in mid-2027

Per Diem: Payable in accordance with GSA rates

CCL Global is recruiting an experienced Owner-Side Construction Interface Manager to join the Owner’s team on a major greenfield pharmaceutical capital construction project in Richmond.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience on large-scale capital construction projects, with significant owner-side interface management experience. This role will work directly with EPC and EPCM contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third parties to identify, coordinate, document, and close interfaces between project scopes before they become construction issues.

This is an owner-side construction role . The Interface Manager will own the Master Interface Register, chair weekly Interface Coordination Meetings, track contractor commitments and interface milestones, document agreements, and drive outstanding interfaces to verified closure.

What You Will Do

• Own the Interface Management Plan and Scope Split Matrix.
• Establish and maintain the project interface framework across the Owner, EPC/EPCM contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third parties.
• Own, maintain, and publish the Master Interface Register as the single source of truth for project interfaces.
• Chair weekly Interface Coordination Meetings and lead working groups for complex or critical interfaces.
• Track contractor interface commitments, actions, milestones, and deliverables through to closure.
• Drive Interface Agreements to documented, dated, version-controlled outcomes.
• Ensure interface items are only closed when agreement, information exchange, and verification have been completed.
• Work with the Project Scheduler to ensure technical interfaces are reflected as milestones within the Integrated Master Schedule.
• Resolve interface issues at working level and escalate outstanding or overdue items appropriately.
• Coordinate with Construction, Quality, Commissioning and Qualification, engineering, and third-party stakeholders to ensure construction and turnover interfaces are addressed.
• Monitor contractor compliance with interface obligations and raise shortfalls early.
• Report open, overdue, and upcoming interfaces to the Project Core Team.
• Verify interfaces are closed out ahead of mechanical completion, transfer of care, custody and control, and turnover.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience on large-scale capital construction projects.
• Significant owner-side experience managing interfaces between multiple contractors and project stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience managing a formal Interface Register and driving interface items through documented and verified closure.
• Experience chairing interface coordination meetings with EPC/EPCM contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or other project parties.
• Experience tracking contractor commitments and interface milestones through a major construction project.
• Working knowledge of EPC and EPCM contract structures and contractor scope interfaces.
• Understanding of how interface milestones connect to the integrated project schedule.
• Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
