Construction Laborer

Duties

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication processes
• Operate various power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques
• Measure and mark materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
• Cut, shape, assemble, and weld sheet metal and ductwork according to specifications while adhering to ASME codes & standards
• Perform pipe threading, rigging, and assembly tasks for structural or mechanical components on construction sites or manufacturing floors
• Use cranes, forklifts, and other rigging equipment safely to move heavy materials or fabricated parts
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure all fabricated items meet safety standards and project requirements
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following safety protocols at all times

Experience

• Proven construction site experience with hands-on fabrication work in industrial or commercial settings
• Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and soldering with a strong understanding of welding codes & standards
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for measurements and calculations
• Experience operating machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, machining tools, and pipe threading equipment
• Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including assembly of metal structures or components
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, rigging gear, and mechanical systems efficiently and safely
• Knowledge of ductwork installation, manufacturing practices, construction procedures, and schematics interpretation is highly desirable

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
