Shop & Field Labourer

Job Summary

GNB is looking for a reliable, hardworking Shop & Field Labourer to join our team. This is a hands-on position that may involve helping both in our shop and on job sites.

The work duties will vary from day to day and may include general labour, shop clean-up, organizing materials and tools, loading and unloading, assisting tradespeople and crews, and operating basic equipment. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with their hands, familiar with basic tools, willing to learn, and takes pride in working hard and getting the job done right.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with general labour tasks in the shop and on job sites
• Help crews with construction, bridge, piling, and site-related work
• Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
• Perform general shop clean-up and keep work areas organized
• Assist with equipment and material preparation for upcoming jobs
• Use hand tools and power tools safely
• Operate basic equipment as trained and directed
• Assist with maintenance, repairs, fabrication, and other shop tasks as required
• Follow directions from supervisors and experienced crew members
• Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
• Take initiative to find work that needs to be done around the shop & yard
• Be willing to take on a variety of tasks and learn new skills

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous construction, labour, shop, or industrial experience is an asset, but not required
• Comfortable working at heights
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding, hands-on environment
• Able to lift, carry, bend, stand, and work outdoors as required
• Willing to learn and take direction
• Reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious
• Self-motivated and able to stay productive without constant supervision
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work in the shop, on job sites, and potentially in camp
• Valid driver's licence
