Construction Laborer

Frontier Housing has served northeastern Kentucky communities for over 50 years by developing housing for homeowners and renters, and providing owner-occupied repair services. Frontier offers a supportive, fast-paced work environment, where we work together to build better communities. The Crew Member will assist the Construction Supervisor and other construction crew members in homebuilding, rental maintenance, and home rehab/repair. This is an hourly position, this is considered non-exempt.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

· Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools;

· Completing construction tasks as assigned by the Lead Carpenter or other supervisor;

· Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment;

· Removing debris, garbage, and potentially dangerous materials from site;

· Assisting Lead Carpenter and other construction members;

· Following all health and safety regulations;

· Mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete.

Experience & Qualifications:

· Valid driver’s license;

· Ability to follow work-site safety protocols and safely operate power tools;

· Ability to lift 80 pound bag of concrete mix and carry it 100 feet;

· Mild-tempered and a team player;

· Willingness to undertake training, including training on energy-efficient construction practices & methods;

· Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, including people of varying economic means;

· Affinity for Frontier’s mission, and for energy-efficiency;

· Must be eligible to be employed in the United States.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED;

· Experience in residential remodeling or construction;

· Ability to read blueprints;

· Ability to calculate required materials and meaurements;

· Excellent time management skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently;

· The ability to speak Spanish.
