Construction Laborer

Job Overview

As a Construction Laborer, you’ll help move projects forward by preparing work areas, handling materials, and supporting concrete, carpentry, masonry, and renovation tasks. You’ll work from construction plans and technical drawings, follow site safety requirements, and use hand and power tools to complete work accurately. The role may involve heavy lifting and working outdoors in changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sites and materials for construction, hardscape, and renovation work; assist with formwork construction and concrete forming.
• Support rebar installation, concrete mixing, pouring, pumping, cutting, and finishing; assist with plastering, masonry, and flooring installation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and, when qualified, heavy equipment; keep tools and work areas orderly.
• Read blueprints, interpret specifications and technical drawings, and coordinate tasks with the crew.
• Follow construction workplace safety regulations and site protocols; report hazards and help maintain a safe work area.

Requirements

• Construction experience or construction site experience, including working on construction projects, is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of carpentry, concrete work, formwork, or masonry is an asset; mechanical knowledge is helpful.
• Ability to read construction plans and blueprints, interpret specifications, and follow instructions.
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and using hand and power tools; heavy equipment operation experience is preferred.
• Safety protocol adherence is essential. Construction estimating experience is a plus.

Pay: $25.02 - $30.13 per hour

Expected hours: 17.0 – 32.0 per week
