Construction Laborer (Custom Homes)

About us

J Carr Construction builds high-end custom homes throughout the Treasure Valley, with projects reaching into McCall, Sun Valley, and the surrounding areas. We're a small team, the work is year-round, and the homes we build are some of the nicest in the valley.

The job

You'll work on our jobsites alongside our superintendents on whatever the day calls for: material handling, site organization and cleanup, prep work, and hands-on assistance with framing, trim, and finish work under their direction.

Our superintendents are generalists who know every trade on the job. Working next to them, you'll see how a high-end custom home actually comes together from foundation to final finishes. That's experience that's hard to get anywhere else, and it's the best reason to take this job.

What we're looking for

• You've handled and used woodworking tools before, including a circular saw, miter saw, drill, and tape measure. You don't need to be a carpenter, but we're not looking to start from zero.
• You show up on time, every day, ready to work.
• Able to communicate with supervisors and crew in English, including taking direction, following safety instructions, and asking questions on the job.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet, outdoors, in all seasons.

Pay and benefits

• $20 to $24 per hour depending on experience, with a wage review at 90 days
• Health insurance
• Paid time off plus paid holidays
