ACE PAINTING LIMITED is looking for reliable and hardworking Painter’s Assistants or Construction Labourers to join our team. We are growing painting company based in Canterbury. We provide a range of services including interior and exterior house painting, roof painting, deck staining, interior plastering, water blasting, and airless spraying. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Painter to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

• Location: Christchurch, Canterbury
• Pay: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on suitability and performance.
• Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Employment Type: Permanent, full-time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicants will assist painters and other tradespeople with general site and painting preparation work. Duties may include:

• loading, unloading and moving painting materials, tools and equipment around work sites
• preparing work areas before painting begins
• placing drop sheets, protective coverings and masking tape around work areas
• assisting with basic surface preparation such as cleaning, scraping and sanding surfaces under supervision
• assisting tradespeople with setting up and packing down work areas
• carrying and positioning ladders and other equipment where required
• keeping tools, equipment and work areas clean and organised
• removing rubbish and waste materials from work sites
• assisting with general construction and labouring duties as required
• following instructions from painters, supervisors and site managers
• complying with workplace health and safety requirements
• carrying out other reasonable general labouring duties associated with the employer’s painting and construction work.

Requirements

• No previous painting or construction experience is required.
• No formal qualification is required.
• Full training will be provided.

• be able to follow instructions and workplace health and safety procedures
• be able to work effectively as part of a team
• be available to work at different work sites where required.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand or be able to obtain an appropriate New Zealand work visa.
