Strong civil construction fundamentals, demonstrated leadership and the ability to learn new scopes are essential.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead a small field crew, assigning daily work and communicating productivity and quality expectations.
- Work alongside crew members performing installation and construction activities.
- Plan daily activities based on construction drawings, project schedules, site conditions and available resources.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, materials and site access.
- Identify field issues and communicate changes or constraints to project management.
- Train and mentor crew members in proper construction methods and safe work practices.
Infrastructure and Civil Construction:
- Direct and participate in installation of fencing, gates, barriers, foundations, equipment supports and related infrastructure.
- Perform or supervise excavation, grading, concrete placement, equipment operation, anchoring, layout and other light civil construction activities.
- Support transportation infrastructure projects involving roadways, bridges, tunnels, overhead signs and related systems.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and installation requirements.
- Verify field measurements, elevations, alignment, workmanship and completed installation quality.
Safety and Quality:
- Conduct daily safety discussions and identify job site hazards before work begins.
- Ensure proper PPE, equipment operation and safe construction practices.
- Coordinate work in active construction environments and around operating infrastructure.
- Inspect completed work and identify deficiencies requiring correction.
- Maintain clean, organized and safe job sites.
Coordination and Reporting:
- Communicate daily progress, manpower utilization, materials requirements and job site issues to project management.
- Document completed work, delays, equipment needs and conditions affecting schedule or cost.
- Coordinate with customers, general contractors, subcontractors and other trades as required.
- Ensure tools, equipment and materials are properly maintained and accounted for.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of relevant hands-on construction experience, including demonstrated crew leadership responsibility.
- Experience in one or more of the following: civil construction, concrete, excavation, equipment operation, commercial fencing, gate installation, roadway construction or infrastructure installation.
- Ability to direct a small crew while personally performing construction activities.
- Ability to read construction drawings, take accurate measurements and execute work to specifications.
- Familiarity with construction equipment, hand tools and power tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to job site safety, quality and productivity.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience installing commercial/security fencing, gates, bollards, equipment foundations or overhead structures.
- Experience operating excavators, skid steers, compactors or similar equipment.
- OSHA 10/30, equipment operator qualifications, work-zone safety training or comparable credentials.
- Experience coordinating with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors and other construction trades.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend and lift or move materials as required, using appropriate equipment and assistance.
