Position Summary

Deuss Enterprises is seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our field team. This position supports our carpenters, foremen, and other field personnel on commercial construction projects throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

The ideal candidate is reliable, willing to learn, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable performing a variety of physical construction tasks. Previous construction experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters, foremen, and other field personnel with daily construction activities.
• Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with demolition, installation, repairs, punch-list work, and general construction activities.
• Measure, cut, drill, fasten, and prepare materials under the direction of experienced field personnel.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and properly.
• Set up and break down work areas, ladders, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites throughout the workday.
• Remove construction debris and properly dispose of waste materials.
• Assist with deliveries and material staging.
• Protect existing finishes and completed work from damage.
• Follow instructions from foremen, carpenters, project supervisors, and other authorized personnel.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Properly care for company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
• Accurately record daily work time and job information using company timekeeping procedures.
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn construction skills, tools, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic ability to use a tape measure and perform simple construction-related measurements.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools after proper instruction.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Dependable transportation and ability to report to various jobsites as required.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
• Ability to arrive on time and ready to work.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying jobsite and weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active construction position. Employees must be able to:

• Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, and climb.
• Lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Work from ladders and elevated work areas when properly trained and authorized.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Work around dust, noise, construction materials, and active construction operations.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

We are looking for someone who is dependable, works hard, follows instructions, and is willing to learn. Construction experience is valuable, but attitude, attendance, and willingness to develop new skills are equally important.

This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on commercial construction experience and develop the skills necessary to advance into a Carpenter or other skilled position within Deuss Enterprises.
