About the Opportunity

For a leading international manufacturing organisation, we are seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to lead the safe and successful execution of industrial CAPEX projects. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong construction leader who can quickly integrate into a complex operating environment, manage contractors effectively, and drive project delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with practical site leadership and has a proven track record of delivering industrial construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities for capital investment projects, ensuring delivery against project scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Manage and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams to achieve project milestones safely and efficiently.
• Serve as the key construction interface between project management, engineering, procurement, operations, maintenance, and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain effective site organisation, construction planning, logistics, and coordination activities.
• Drive compliance with all environmental, health, safety, and permit-to-work requirements.
• Conduct daily site meetings, progress reviews, contractor coordination sessions, and safety briefings.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks proactively, and implement mitigation measures to maintain project objectives.
• Oversee construction quality control, inspections, testing activities, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and support Mechanical Completion activities, commissioning, start-up, and handover to Operations.
• Provide clear reporting on project progress, risks, contractor performance, and construction KPIs.
• Escalate critical issues when necessary and ensure timely decision-making to maintain project momentum.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience gained through industry practice.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience managing construction activities within industrial CAPEX project environments.
• Proven experience delivering complex construction projects safely and successfully in operational industrial facilities.
• Strong contractor management experience, including supervision of multiple work fronts and disciplines.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, construction planning, and industrial safety practices.
• Experience coordinating stakeholders across engineering, procurement, operations, maintenance, and project management functions.
• Demonstrated capability to work independently and take ownership of construction execution.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced project environments with competing priorities.
