Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join ANTARA KOH (M) SDN BHD in Johor. This is a full-time position offering a strategic leadership opportunity within our construction management operations. As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role is critical to our company's success, as you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of our construction initiatives whilst maintaining safety and compliance standards across all project activities.

Key responsibilities

1. Plan, organise and manage all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation
2. Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution
3. Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets and quality specifications
4. Conduct regular site inspections and maintain comprehensive project documentation
5. Implement and enforce health and safety protocols on all construction sites
6. Manage and resolve conflicts between project stakeholders and address any on-site issues promptly
7. Supervise site teams and coordinate the work of multiple contractors and tradespeople
8. Ensure compliance with local building regulations, codes and permits
9. Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients
10. Control project costs and manage variations and claims effectively

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5+ years' experience in construction management or a similar senior construction role
2. Proven track record of successfully managing projects on time and within budget
3. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and safety regulations
4. Excellent organisational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
5. Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office applications
6. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities with the capability to motivate and coordinate diverse workforces
7. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
8. Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent professional certification
9. Knowledge of cost estimation, tender processes and contract management
10. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
11. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
