CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor construction activities on site.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and authorities.
• Ensure project schedules, budgets, and specifications are met.
• Monitor work progress and prepare regular progress reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and statutory requirements.
• Review and approve construction drawings, method statements, and materials.
• Resolve site issues, technical problems, and construction delays effectively.
• Conduct site meetings and inspections.
• Manage quality control and ensure workmanship meets required standards.
• Oversee handover, defect rectification, and project close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or project management (property development preferred).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Experience dealing with consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office and project management tools.
• Possession of valid CIDB / professional certification is an added advantage.
