EPC Construction Manager – Utility-Scale Solar (OH & AR)

Viridan Group is partnering with an established, vertically integrated solar developer and EPC contractor to hire two EPC Construction Managers:

• Jackson, OH: 1 opening
• Hamburg, AR: 1 opening

This role leads safe, on-time and on-budget delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects, typically 5MW to 500MW+, from mobilization through mechanical completion and turnover. As the on-site authority and primary field representative, you'll lead subcontractors and field teams and work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Quality and Safety.

Direct utility-scale solar EPC construction experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities, including daily field operations, sequencing and workforce planning to hit schedule milestones
• Serve as the on-site decision maker and represent the company with owners, inspectors, utilities, AHJs and third parties
• Execute to the approved schedule and budget, identify schedule risks and constructability issues, and put mitigation plans in place
• Track productivity, installed quantities and earned value, and provide accurate field reporting
• Support change management, including scope changes, field directives and potential claims
• Manage and coordinate all subcontractors (civil, pile driving, racking, electrical and commissioning support) against contract, schedule, safety and quality requirements
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging and site logistics with Procurement
• Champion a strong safety culture, including OSHA compliance, daily JHAs, toolbox talks and incident investigations
• Make sure work meets drawings, specs and codes, and coordinate QA/QC inspections, testing and audits
• Resolve RFIs and field design issues with Engineering
• Drive punch list closeout, as-builts, turnover packages, commissioning and energization

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction management experience, including 3+ years on utility-scale solar EPC projects
• Strong knowledge of solar PV construction methods, electrical systems, civil works and balance-of-plant scope
• Proven experience managing large subcontractor teams across multiple scopes at once
• Strong understanding of EPC contracts, schedules and construction cost controls
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore or similar
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Willingness to work full-time on site and travel as needed

Nice to Have

• PMP, CCM, OSHA 30 or NABCEP certification
• Experience with high-voltage systems, substations and interconnection scopes
• Commissioning, testing and owner handover experience
