What they need

PARC Engineering is on the lookout for a motivated & capable Construction Manager to take the lead on a high-impact project in the heart of Kalgoorlie’s goldfields. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll play a key role in driving the project through punch listing, defect rectification, brownfield modifications and final completion, working closely with project, commissioning and operations teams to achieve a successful handover.

With safety, efficiency and operational continuity at the forefront, you’ll lead site construction activities and coordinate works in a challenging brownfield environment, ensuring the job is delivered to the highest standards while minimising disruption to ongoing plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all construction activities associated with punch listing, brownfield modifications and project close-out.
  • Coordinate Mechanical, Structural, Piping (SMP), Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) and Civil construction activities.
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly construction execution plans aligned with project priorities.
  • Manage site supervisors, subcontractors and construction crews to ensure safe and productive work execution.
  • Coordinate work within an operating processing plant while maintaining production and operational requirements.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with approved engineering drawings, specifications, Australian Standards and client procedures.
  • Manage the identification, prioritisation and closure of punch list items.
  • Oversee defect rectification, rework and quality assurance activities.
  • Lead shutdown and outage construction activities where required.
  • Monitor construction progress and implement recovery plans to achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure all permits, isolations, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and high-risk work activities are effectively managed.
  • Review and approve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Lift Studies and construction methodologies.
  • Conduct daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings.
  • Manage quality inspections, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), red-line mark-ups and completion documentation.
  • Resolve construction and technical issues in consultation with engineering and client representatives.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering safety, progress, labour productivity, quality, risks and cost performance.
  • Support commissioning, system testing and final handover of completed plant systems.

Role Requirements:

  • Trade qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Boilermaker, Pipefitter or equivalent) or tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction management within mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial projects
  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield projects and fixed plant modifications while managing multidisciplinary SMP and E&I construction teams
  • Extensive experience working within operational processing plants
  • Strong understanding of commissioning, completions and project handover processes
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, Work Health and Safety legislation, and quality management systems
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational abilities
  • Strong commercial awareness and resource management capability

PARC Perks:

  • Genuine career progression paths and professional development opportunities
  • Remuneration, Reward and Recognition Programs
  • Support for you and your family through our Employee Assistant Program (EAP)
  • The chance to join a growing business with a family-company feel & values driven culture where every person's contribution matters
