To support our growing European business, we are looking for an experienced Construction Manager based in Romania, Bulgaria or Croatia to lead on-site construction activities for our feed engineering, food engineering and industrial projects across these countries and other European markets.

Position Summary

The Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall management of project construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and according to European standards and contractual requirements.

This role requires strong experience in industrial construction management, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage local contractors, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders in an international project environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Construction Management

• Take full responsibility for on-site construction management of FAMSUN feed engineering, food engineering and industrial projects in Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and other European countries .
• Develop and execute construction plans, schedules and project execution strategies.
• Monitor project progress, quality, cost and timelines to ensure successful project delivery according to contractual requirements.
• Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.

2. Site Coordination & Resource Management

• Coordinate daily site activities including manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractor management.
• Manage and supervise local construction teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure construction processes comply with company standards and project requirements.
• Solve on-site technical and operational issues to maintain continuous project progress.

3. Safety, Quality & Compliance Management

• Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable EU construction standards, local building regulations in Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, and relevant workplace safety requirements .
• Implement site safety management systems, conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Organize safety training and promote a strong safety culture on project sites.
• Ensure quality control procedures are properly implemented throughout the construction process.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain complete project documentation including:

• Construction daily reports
• Progress reports
• Quality inspection records
• Change orders and variation documents
• Project handover documentation

Provide regular project updates, risks and solutions to FAMSUN European management team and headquarters.

5. Stakeholder & Customer Communication

• Act as the key contact person for customers, supervision companies, contractors and local authorities.
• Coordinate communication between different stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Handle construction-related customer requirements and issues professionally.
• Maintain strong customer relationships throughout project implementation.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction/project management , preferably within Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia or other European countries .
• Experience in industrial construction, manufacturing facilities, food/feed processing plants, or EPC projects is highly preferred.
• Experience managing international projects and multicultural teams is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction project management processes, including planning, scheduling, quality control and cost management.
• Familiar with applicable EU construction standards, local building regulations in Romania, Bulgaria or Croatia, and workplace safety requirements .
• Ability to independently manage construction sites and solve complex project issues.

Language Skills

• Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken) are mandatory.
• Ability to communicate effectively with international customers, contractors, suppliers and government authorities.
• Romanian, Bulgarian or Croatian language skills are an advantage , depending on the project location.
