About 3B Protection
3B Protection is a rapidly expanding manufacturer and provider of advanced ballistic, blast-resistant, forced-entry-resistant, and fire-rated protection systems designed to safeguard critical infrastructure.
Our products are used to protect electrical substations, utility facilities, data centers, battery energy storage systems (BESS), industrial facilities, and other high-security installations.
As we continue expanding our construction and installation operations throughout the United States, we are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead field construction activities across Nevada and the western region.
Position Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Construction Manager who can take responsibility for the successful execution of our construction and installation projects.
This is a field construction leadership position, not a traditional Project Manager role.
The successful candidate will oversee construction activities, subcontractors, site supervisors, installation crews, equipment, safety, quality, and construction logistics across multiple projects.
Working alongside our existing Project Managers, the Construction Manager will ensure that projects are installed correctly, safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved engineering drawings and specifications.
The position requires someone who understands construction from the ground up, can confidently manage subcontractors and field operations, and takes ownership of resolving construction challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Construction and Field Operations
- Oversee construction and installation activities across multiple projects throughout Nevada and the western United States.
- Manage field execution of precast concrete ballistic walls, firewalls, security gates, foundations, and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate site mobilization, construction sequencing, installation methods, and daily field activities.
- Review approved engineering drawings, installation details, and construction specifications.
- Identify potential construction challenges before work begins and develop practical solutions.
- Coordinate site preparation, foundation construction, structural installations, and project completion.
- Ensure construction activities meet approved schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
Subcontractor and Site Supervision
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, site superintendents, foremen, and installation crews.
- Establish clear expectations for workmanship, productivity, safety, and scheduling.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections.
- Monitor construction progress and address issues before they affect project delivery.
- Ensure adequate site supervision is maintained during active construction operations.
- Verify subcontractor performance and identify corrective actions when necessary.
- Support subcontractor selection and review construction methods and capabilities.
Precast Concrete and Heavy Construction
- Oversee installation of large precast concrete panels, columns, and structural components.
- Coordinate crane operations, rigging arrangements, lifting plans, and equipment requirements with qualified personnel.
- Review foundation readiness, anchor bolt positioning, base plates, connections, and installation tolerances.
- Coordinate delivery, offloading, staging, and installation of heavy construction materials.
- Ensure installations follow approved engineering requirements and manufacturer procedures.
- Identify constructability issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions with engineering and project management.
Safety and Quality Control
- Maintain high standards of construction safety and workmanship.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable construction regulations.
- Coordinate site-specific safety plans, inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Verify that subcontractors follow approved construction and lifting procedures.
- Identify nonconforming work and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain construction quality records, inspection reports, and field documentation.
Scheduling, Cost Control and Coordination
- Develop and manage field construction schedules in coordination with Project Managers.
- Monitor subcontractor productivity, labor utilization, equipment requirements, and field costs.
- Identify potential construction delays and implement recovery measures.
- Coordinate material requirements and delivery schedules with procurement and manufacturing.
- Provide accurate field progress reports and updates to project management and senior leadership.
- Support the evaluation of construction change orders and field-related cost impacts.
- Coordinate project completion, punch lists, inspections, and closeout activities.
Working With Our Project Management Team
3B Protection already has an established project management function.
The Construction Manager will work closely with our Project Managers while maintaining clear responsibility for field construction execution.
Project Managers will continue to oversee client coordination, contracts, overall project budgets, project administration, and contractual milestones.
The Construction Manager will focus on construction methods, site activities, subcontractor performance, field schedules, safety, quality, and successful installation.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of field operations and provide dependable construction leadership across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial, industrial, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction supervision, field management, or a similar leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple construction projects or subcontractor teams.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction, foundations, structural steel, and construction installation methods.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, and technical details.
- Experience managing construction schedules, site logistics, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Understanding of crane operations, rigging, heavy lifting, and associated safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make sound field construction decisions.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly.
Preferred Experience
- Utility substations and electrical infrastructure projects.
- Precast concrete wall and structural panel installation.
- Heavy civil construction and industrial facilities.
- Data centers, energy storage facilities, and critical infrastructure projects.
