Construction Manager

SkillSetGroup is looking for an experienced Construction Manager based in the SoCal area. This position will be managing (on-site) ground-up construction for commercial/retail projects. The chosen candidate must have very strong Pre-Construction experience with estimating, bidding, contracting & early-stage project planning. Ground-up, owner's representative experience is also a must. This position will require field travel throughout the US for on-site project oversight. A bachelor's degree is also required. This will be a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• 10+ years of construction management experience.
• Strong ground-up commercial/industrial construction experience.
• 5+ years of leadership, GC oversight, preconstruction, development, or owner's-representative experience.
• Strong estimating and capital-budget experience.
• Experience selecting and managing general contractors.
• Knowledge of construction contract structures including GMP, lump sum, cost-plus, design-build, and CM-at-risk.
• Experience managing multiple projects and construction teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Food/beverage, production, hygienic, GMP, or FSMA construction experience is highly valuable.
• Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera or similar construction software preferred.
• Must be comfortable with 25–50% travel.
