ESK delivers civil engineering works across the renewable energy, utilities and commercial sectors. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee several projects across Munster and South Leinster.

The Role

You will take overall responsibility for the delivery of a number of live projects, working closely with our Site Managers to keep works progressing safely, to programme and to the required quality.

This is a hands-on management role involving regular travel between sites. You will review progress, plan upcoming works, organise resources and materials, and resolve issues before they affect delivery. You will provide clear direction and practical support to Site Managers, while keeping senior management informed of progress and any decisions required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee several projects across Munster and South Leinster, carrying out regular site visits to review progress, quality and upcoming requirements.
• Lead and support Site Managers, ensuring each site has clear priorities and an achievable plan.
• Develop and monitor construction programmes, identify delays and agree actions to keep projects on track.
• Plan upcoming works with Site Managers, ensuring labour, plant, materials and subcontractors are available when required.
• Coordinate material orders and deliveries in line with the programme and site requirements.
• Monitor the quality of completed works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, checking that their work meets programme and quality expectations.
• Work with the engineering and commercial teams to resolve technical queries, identify changes and manage their impact on delivery.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and attend progress meetings.
• Ensure Site Managers maintain appropriate site records, quality documentation and progress reports.
• Monitor health, safety and environmental standards alongside the company’s H&S team.
• Report to senior management on project progress, resource requirements and issues requiring attention.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager or experienced Site Manager ready to oversee multiple projects.
• A strong background in civil engineering or construction, with experience delivering projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Proven ability to lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors across several work fronts.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction sequencing, programme management and resource planning.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to make decisions and address issues promptly.
• A relevant construction or civil engineering qualification is desirable.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.
