At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we challenge what is currently accepted so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. If you're interested in a rewarding career working alongside some of the industry's most respected engineering and construction professionals, Jacobs is where you belong. We are seeking a driven and client-focused Design-Build Construction Manager to join our Design-Build team in the Northwest and support the successful delivery of large water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

This position will be based full-time onsite and will play a key leadership role during the construction phase of major projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Construction Manager will oversee field operations and serve as the primary coordinator between subcontractors, superintendents, project staff, and client representatives to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. In addition to leading onsite construction execution, the Construction Manager will play an active role in supporting future project pursuits and preconstruction efforts. This includes engaging with clients during project development, contributing to proposal and planning activities, and helping establish construction strategies that position projects for successful execution from conception through completion.

What You'll Do

As the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading daily construction activities from mobilization through project closeout. You will provide field leadership while ensuring that work is performed safely, in accordance with contract requirements, and consistent with project schedule and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate onsite construction activities for design-build infrastructure projects.
  • Manage and oversee subcontractor performance, productivity, safety compliance, and workmanship.
  • Direct and coordinate project superintendents and field staff to ensure efficient execution of work.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues that may impact safety, schedule, cost, or quality.
  • Conduct regular site walks, inspections, and coordination meetings with subcontractors, superintendents, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, permits, and contractual requirements.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to develop and maintain construction schedules, recovery plans, and execution strategies.
  • Support constructability reviews, work planning efforts, and sequencing discussions with the engineering and procurement teams.
  • Coordinate interface management between multiple disciplines, subcontractors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Lead site safety initiatives and reinforce a strong safety culture in alignment with Jacobs and client expectations.
  • Track and communicate construction progress, risks, and opportunities through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  • Support testing, startup, commissioning, punch list completion, turnover documentation, and final project acceptance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project partners.
  • Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, industry events, project interviews, and relationship-building activities to help position Jacobs for future opportunities.

Here's what you'll need

What You'll Bring

You are a proven construction leader who excels at managing field teams, building relationships, solving problems, and delivering successful projects in a fast-paced environment. You possess strong communication and organizational skills and have a track record of driving execution while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of construction experience, including at least 10 years managing field execution on large, complex infrastructure projects.
  • Experience leading construction activities on water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, or other heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, subcontract administration, safety programs, and quality management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and manage multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Experience with project closeout activities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • Professional Engineer (PE), CCM, CMAA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Design-Build project delivery experience.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $50 million to $500+ million in construction value.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training.

At Jacobs, we're partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery teams. By joining Jacobs, you'll help deliver critical infrastructure projects that improve communities and make a lasting impact.
