What they need
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Construction Manager to lead and oversee complex electric fencing security projects in Houston. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage large-scale construction initiatives from inception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive leadership style, exceptional project management skills, and a passion for driving excellent results, as well as a "next man up" mentality. Your views and experience in the field will be greatly valued, and we would like your help in continually improving our SOPs to increase safety for our people and quality for our customers.
Compensation
- $75,000-$85,000 per year
- 401k and healthcare plan
- Company truck
- 15 days of PTO + federal holidays
What you'll own
- Crew scheduling. Build the install and service calendar, assign techs to jobs, and run the 24/7 on-call rotation so incidents get a 4-hour response.
- Training. Train new technicians on safe work around energized fence, RAMPED install standards, and customer-site conduct. Sign off on each tech before they work unsupervised.
- Quality control. Inspect finished installs against a punch list you will help develop, sign off on jobs, and track callbacks and rework back to their root cause.
- Inventory ordering and management. Set reorder points, place orders, and make sure every truck leaves with the right wire reels and bill of materials for its job. This may include coordinating fence technicians to pick up inventory with a trailer from various locations across Texas.
- Permits and regulations. Pull local electric fence permits ahead of installs and keep the crew compliant with city and county requirements.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in a field trade (fencing, electrical, low-voltage, telecom, utility, HVAC, or similar), including at least 1 year leading a crew. Fence experience strongly preferred.
- You have personally trained technicians, not just worked next to them.
- Comfortable reading site plans and turning them into a materials list.
- Organized enough to run a schedule and an inventory count, hands-on enough to set posts with the crew.
- Available for on-call escalations, including some nights and weekends.
- Willingness to occasionally travel and stay overnight for larger jobs that require collaboration of crews based in different cities.
- Valid Texas driver's license and a clean MVR.
- Willingness to get licensed by Texas DPS for Private Security Alarm Installation
Helpful, not required: electrical or alarm licensing; electric fence or regular fence installation experience; alarm and access-control experience; permitting experience with Houston-area municipalities; bilingual English/Spanish.
