Construction Manager – Civil / Mechanical & Electrical

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and supervise construction activities across civil, structural, marine, mechanical and electrical work fronts.
• Coordinate and integrate EPCC subcontractor activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, specifications and project requirements.
• Manage construction sequencing, interfaces and site coordination to ensure smooth progress across multiple work fronts and project milestones.
• Oversee construction and installation activities, including infrastructure, structural, marine, mechanical, electrical, solar and BESS-related works, as applicable.
• Ensure construction works comply with IFC drawings, ITP requirements, QA/QC standards and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Planning, HSE, subcontractors, consultants and other stakeholders to monitor progress, resolve site issues and drive NCR and punch-list closure.
• Prepare and manage short-term construction lookahead plans, progress updates and support project progress measurement and S-curve reporting.
• Ensure proper completion documentation, testing, inspection, mechanical completion and handover requirements are achieved.
• Enforce HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, environmental controls and safe work practices across all construction activities.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities, consultants and project stakeholders on inspections, approvals and technical interfaces where required.
• Exercise stop-work authority where unsafe conditions, environmental risks or non-compliance are identified.

Required Qualification & Experience:

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (P.Eng / Ir.) is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong construction management experience in utility-scale energy, infrastructure, solar, BESS, heavy civil, marine or related projects.
• Good knowledge of construction planning, subcontractor management, QA/QC, HSE and project reporting.
• Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines and manage complex construction interfaces.
• Knowledge of applicable Malaysian statutory, safety and environmental requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Years of Experience:
Minimum 15 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a construction management role, preferably in utility-scale energy, infrastructure, solar, BESS, marine or heavy civil projects.

Language Proficiency:
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Others:

• CIDB registration and valid safety induction / Green Card.
• Experience in floating solar, reservoir/dam, marine works, BESS, HV systems or utility-scale solar projects will be an added advantage.
