Construction Materials Technician

Elipsis Engineering and Consulting (EEC) is looking for a Materials Technician

The purpose of this position is to perform laboratory testing, asphalt plant verification, and field inspection/testing services experienced working for governmental agency and private sector projects.

Job duties:

· Laboratory testing: Adhering to applicable FDOT, ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials), ACI (American Concrete Institute), CMEC, Company manuals, tolerances, memos & general policies.

· Asphalt plant verification: Basic responsibility is to be aware of and verifying that the Contractor is following all aspects of his Producer QC Plan and the project specifications, plans and documents

· Field testing & inspection: Working primarily on active construction sites you may be involved with field observation, measuring and tracking contract quantities, testing, sampling, and inspection of soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, and asphalt operations.

You’ll be successful in this role if you are proficient in following directions, interpreting specifications, reading project plans and typical sections. You will need to be familiar with the respective Client’s Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and be proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform these duties.

The required education and experience for this role include·

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ACI -Aggregate Base Testing Technician

Preferred qualifications

Aggregate Testing Technician, Concrete Lab Technician, LBR Technician, Asphalt Plant I & II, Concrete Lab Technician. CTQP Concrete Field Level I, Earthworks Level I, and Intermediate or Advanced MOT.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
