Construction Operations & Workforce Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Construction Operations & Workforce Coordinator to join our construction project team in Johor Bahru, Johor. The successful candidate will support daily construction operations, project execution and workforce management, including construction progress coordination, manpower planning, labour deployment, subcontractor workforce coordination, attendance monitoring and site workforce administration. The role requires close coordination with project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site workers to ensure adequate manpower resources and smooth project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and follow up on daily construction activities and project execution.
• Assist in implementing construction plans and monitor work progress against project schedules and targets.
• Coordinate manpower planning and workforce deployment according to project requirements.
• Monitor daily site manpower and assist in allocating workers to different work areas and activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and labour teams regarding manpower requirements, mobilisation, deployment and work arrangements.
• Maintain employee and worker attendance, working hours, manpower records and other relevant workforce information.
• Coordinate worker mobilisation and demobilisation according to project requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor workforce deployment and follow up on manpower-related issues.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site teams to ensure adequate manpower for construction activities.
• Identify manpower shortages, productivity issues and construction progress concerns and follow up with the relevant parties.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred.
• Relevant experience in construction operations, workforce management, labour coordination, project coordination or site administration is preferred.
• Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial or large-scale project environments will be an advantage.
• Familiar with construction site operations, manpower planning, workforce deployment and subcontractor coordination.
• Experience in coordinating site workers, subcontractor manpower or labour teams will be an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Organised, responsible and able to handle multiple site and workforce matters.
• Able to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors and site workers.
• Mandarin proficiency is required. Candidates must be able to read, listen, speak and write in Mandarin Chinese.
• Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and/or English.
