Construction Operations Manager

Quest Financial is partnering with an established commercial construction organization seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to oversee project management teams, installation operations, and overall project execution.

Location: Cumming, GA (Onsite)

Compensation: $90,000–$105,000, depending on experience

This position will be responsible for leading a team of project managers and engineers while overseeing installation crews, subcontractors, project schedules, and operational performance. The role will focus on improving efficiency, controlling labor costs, ensuring project profitability, and maintaining strong relationships with general contractors and customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, proven experience managing teams, and a hands-on leadership approach. This individual should be comfortable overseeing multiple projects, developing employees, improving operational processes, and supporting field operations when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of project managers and engineers, ensuring accountability, productivity, and successful project execution.
• Oversee commercial construction projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Coordinate installation crews, subcontractors, and field operations to ensure projects are properly staffed and executed efficiently.
• Develop and strengthen internal installation teams while maintaining relationships with qualified subcontractors.
• Monitor project budgets, labor costs, schedules, and profitability, identifying opportunities to reduce expenses and improve efficiency.
• Partner with general contractors, customers, and internal teams to resolve project challenges and maintain strong working relationships.
• Establish and improve operational procedures, workflows, and performance expectations across project management and installation teams.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and promote a safe working environment for field personnel.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing development to team members.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvements and support company growth.
• Conduct occasional job site visits to support project teams, address challenges, and ensure successful execution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial construction operations, project management, or a related leadership role.
• Previous experience directly managing project managers, engineers, field personnel, or installation crews.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, including working with general contractors and subcontractors.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously while managing budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Knowledge of job costing, labor management, project profitability, and cost control.
• Experience developing teams, improving processes, and holding employees accountable to performance expectations.
• Familiarity with construction project management software or ERP systems; experience with Acumatica strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with employees, customers, subcontractors, and senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
