Construction Plant Fitter

Plant Fitter:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of construction plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance on construction plant and machinery.

• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Service and maintain excavators, dump trucks, loaders, crushers, screeners and other mobile and fixed plant.
• Carry out inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before they result in equipment failure.
• Repair and replace mechanical components as required.
• Work on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.
• Assist with electrical fault-finding where appropriate to the role.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise machinery downtime.
• Complete servicing and maintenance records accurately.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organised condition.
• Liaise with operators and management regarding machinery faults and maintenance requirements.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning and relocation of plant and equipment when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Comply fully with company health and safety policies and site rules.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties required by management.

Requirements

• Qualified or part qualified Plant Fiiter
• Experience with construction plant/heavy machinery.
• Good mechanical and fault-finding skills.
• Hydraulic experience desirable.
• Welding/fabrication experience an advantage.
• Full driving licence desirable.
