Company Overview

RC&M Services LLC is a Puerto Rico-based company providing integrated repair, construction, maintenance, and project support services to commercial and industrial clients.

Our operations support multidisciplinary projects involving civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, facilities, and construction-related scopes. RC&M serves clients in demanding industrial environments, including regulated manufacturing operations, where safety, quality, compliance, schedule, coordination, and execution are critical to project success.

We are committed to providing practical, reliable, and integrated solutions while maintaining strong relationships with our clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.

Position Overview

RC&M Services LLC is seeking a motivated and experienced Construction Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and closeout of commercial and industrial construction projects in Puerto Rico.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, hands-on construction experience, and the ability to coordinate multiple disciplines, contractors, field personnel, suppliers, and clients in fast-paced project environments.

Experience in industrial and regulated facilities, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, life sciences, manufacturing, or similar environments, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and closeout of assigned construction projects.
  • Coordinate field activities with Project Management, Foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, designers, and clients.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, cost, progress, safety, and quality.
  • Perform regular site walkthroughs and support resolution of field and constructability issues.
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, project logs, drawings, field documentation, and action items.
  • Assist with project schedules, look-ahead planning, procurement, material tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Support estimates, quotations, change orders, progress measurement, and project cost controls.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings, inspections, punch-list activities, turnover, and closeout.
  • Support multidisciplinary projects involving civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, facilities, and utilities scopes.
  • Promote compliance with RC&M and client safety, quality, and project requirements.
  • Support construction activities within active industrial or regulated facilities when assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in construction, project engineering, construction project coordination, or project management.
  • Experience supporting commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, schedules, subcontractor coordination, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in office and field environments.
  • Valid Puerto Rico driver's license and availability to travel between project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, life sciences, regulated manufacturing, or other industrial facilities.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction scopes.
  • Experience working within active manufacturing or operating facilities.
  • Familiarity with GMP/cGMP environments and construction requirements within regulated facilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, or similar project/construction management tools.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Exposure to commissioning, qualification, startup, or project turnover activities.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on engineering professional who can move effectively between the office and the field, maintain strong project documentation, coordinate multiple stakeholders and construction disciplines, identify issues before they affect project performance, and help drive projects safely and efficiently from planning through completion.

The successful candidate should demonstrate ownership, accountability, organization, technical judgment, a sense of urgency, and a proactive problem-solving mindset, while maintaining professional communication with clients, field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to work at different project locations within Puerto Rico.
  • Availability to support project requirements outside normal business hours when necessary, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, shutdowns, or holidays.
  • Ability to work within active construction, industrial, manufacturing, and regulated environments.
  • Ability to comply with project-specific PPE, safety, security, and client requirements.
