This role focuses on reviewing complex building drawing sets against governing documents, such as a basis of design, owner's project requirements, code excerpts, or industry standards, and identifying every place the drawings fail to comply. You will also judge whether AI-generated reviews correctly find, locate, and explain those violations. We're looking for practicing civil and structural engineers with hands-on design review or plan-check experience who can provide and/or prepare suitable drawing sets and governing documents that they are authorized to share and that permit use for AI training.

Responsibilities

• Review multi-discipline drawing sets against a governing document and identify every non-compliance, including violations that only surface when sheets, details, and schedules are cross-referenced.
• Record each finding in a structured format (CSV), citing the sheet, element tag or grid reference, governing clause, and a clear description of the issue.
• Evaluate AI-generated review findings against reference answers, flagging missed violations, false positives, incorrect locations, and misapplied clauses.
• Develop challenging review tasks, reference answer sets, and grading criteria that reflect professional engineering practice.
• Document assumptions and interpretations where the governing document or drawings are ambiguous or conflicting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, with current work on building projects and hands-on experience in drawing review, QA/QC, or plan check.
