Construction Project Engineer

ROTHA Contracting Company is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team and support roadway and bridge construction projects. The Project Engineer serves as a critical link between the office and the field, ensuring that construction activities are executed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support

• Work closely with Project Managers, foremen, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth field operations
• Coordinate material deliveries and verify that materials meet project specifications
• Participate in progress meetings and communicate field conditions to the project team
• Support the Project Manager with administrative tasks as needed

Technical Coordination

• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Assist in processing submittals and RFIs (Requests for Information)
• Work with the project team to prepare field work packages for upcoming activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• 0–3 years of experience in civil construction; roadway or bridge construction experience preferred
• Experience with Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) projects
• Familiarity with construction management software
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an active outdoor construction environment in various weather conditions
• Ability to walk construction sites and access all areas of active construction
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed

Certifications & Licenses

• Valid driver’s license required
• OSHA 10 certification required (can be obtained after hire)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $95,000.00 per year
