Construction Project Engineer Level 1

At RBA Builders, our team is central to every project we deliver. We’re seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and learning how commercial construction projects come together.

In this role, you’ll support project planning, coordination, and execution while gaining hands-on experience in both office and jobsite settings. You’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents and have opportunities to grow with a company that values safety, accountability, quality, and its employees.

What You’ll Do

• Support project teams with planning, coordination, and day-to-day project activities.
• Gain exposure to field operations, construction methods, and different project types.
• Review drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documents.
• Assist with submittals, shop drawings, document control, and project logs.
• Help track change orders, costs, procurement, and project schedules.
• Support estimating work, including preparing bid packages and reviewing scopes and subcontractor proposals.
• Work with Project Managers and Superintendents on project execution and closeout.
• Communicate and build working relationships with subcontractors, architects, clients, and team members.
• Support jobsite safety procedures, documentation, and compliance efforts.
• Stay organized while managing multiple assignments and deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, completed or in progress.
• One to two or more years of experience in construction, engineering, or a related field; internship or co-op experience is preferred.
• Basic ability to read and understand construction plans, scopes, and specifications.
• A foundational understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to collaborate and learn.
• The ability to review project documents and identify potential issues with guidance.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or similar platforms; Bluebeam experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a positive, professional approach to working with others.

This is a full-time position that involves both office and jobsite work. Jobsite visits are required, and appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn. The role may involve walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
