Construction Project Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing detailed bids, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and subcontractors. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and completed within scope and budget. Duties

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and requirements
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor bids
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Timberline (Sage Estimating) and other construction management tools to prepare accurate proposals
• Manage multiple project estimates simultaneously, ensuring timely submission of bids
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms
• Collaborate with project managers to assess project risks, develop budgets, and implement cost control strategies
• Read and interpret construction drawings to determine material requirements and quantify quantities using Bluebeam or similar software
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information that influences cost estimates
• Review contracts and manage change orders to adjust estimates accordingly during project execution
• Maintain detailed spreadsheets for tracking costs, bid comparisons, and estimation history
• Support project management teams in managing budgets throughout the construction lifecycle

Skills

• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for blueprint reading and markup analysis
• Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing from vendors and subcontractors
• Experience with HeavyBid or equivalent estimating software for commercial projects
• Solid understanding of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications
• Expertise in cost management, material cost estimating, and budget estimation for large-scale projects
• Knowledge of construction industry standards, contracts, and project management principles
• Hands-on experience with construction site activities and understanding of field conditions impacting estimates
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions, team collaboration, and presenting bid proposals
• Familiarity with HeavyBid and Timberline (Sage Estimating) or similar tools for detailed property or damage assessments is a must.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
