Construction Project Manager

Run your own projects. Make the decisions. Be backed by people who know construction.

XXL Constructions is a growing Brisbane builder delivering industrial, commercial, and residential projects from concept to completion. Our work ranges from fit-outs and make-good works through to multi-million-dollar industrial builds and engineered steel structures.

We’re looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to take ownership of projects from estimating handover through to practical completion, handover and defects close-out.

This is a hands-on role with real autonomy, with the benefit of plenty of support. You’ll have direct access to the directors and work closely with estimating, administration, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects commercially sound, well run and moving forward.

What you’ll own

• Project programme, budget, cost-to-complete and margin
• Subcontractor procurement, coordination and performance
• Progress claims, variations and contract administration
• Design, engineering, approvals and consultant coordination
• Site safety, quality and compliance
• Client and stakeholder relationships
• Practical completion, handover and defects
• Direction and support of supervisors and site teams
• Early identification and resolution of project and commercial risks

You won’t be buried under layers of management. We expect our Project Managers to take ownership, make decisions and communicate clearly, with support available when they need it.

Key skills and experience required

You’ll be someone who knows how to run a construction project properly and takes pride in the outcome. You'll bring the following key skills and experience

• Experience delivering commercial, industrial or residential projects end-to-end
• Strong commercial awareness and construction contract administration skills
• Confidence managing subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
• The ability to read architectural, structural and shop drawings
• Working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and Queensland WHS requirements
• Strong organisation, judgement and problem-solving skills
• Clear, practical communication
• Current White Card and C-class driver licence

A QBCC Site Supervisor licence and/or trade, engineering or construction management qualification would be advantageous.

Why join XXL?

• Interesting work: Deliver industrial, commercial, and residential projects, engineered structures, fit-outs and complex builds, not the same job on repeat
• Real ownership: Take responsibility for your projects and have the authority to make decisions
• Direct access to leadership: Work closely with the directors in a lean team where decisions get made quickly
• A strong voice: XXL is investing in better systems, technology and project delivery, and you’ll have input into how we continue to improve
• Room to grow: As the business scales, there is genuine opportunity to take on broader project and construction leadership responsibility
• Brisbane-based: Work with a local business delivering projects across Brisbane and South East Queensland
• Established credentials: ISO-certified and operating under a QBCC Open Builder licence
• Competitive salary: Package aligned with experience and capability

If you’re a strong Project Manager who wants more ownership, interesting projects and the chance to become an important part of a growing construction business, we’d like to hear from you.
