Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a valid GB-98 to oversee high-consequence federal construction projects at national laboratories. You will manage complex lab renovations and builds from conception to completion. This role requires a strong technical background in laboratory systems, strict adherence to federal regulations, and the ability to travel for regional federal projects. Please note that obtaining and maintaining a federal security clearance is a strict condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.

Coordinate project activities and resources, including scheduling and material procurement.
Utilize construction management software for project tracking, reporting, and documentation.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify workmanship, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Prepare, review, and manage contracts, ensuring all parties understand their obligations.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Conduct site walk-throughs and participate in project procurement.
Manage project schedules using Procore.
Facilitate communication between stakeholders to address issues, changes, or concerns regarding project scope.

• Maintain detailed and organized project documentation, including progress reports, changes, and communications. Travel to various federal and national laboratory sites across New Mexico and Arizona (30% travel).

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (e.g., DOE Q/L or DOD Secret); this is a mandatory condition of employment. Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and methodologies.
  Experience with Microsoft Apps, such as Excel, Word, etc.
  Familiarity with drawing reviews for site design and analysis.
  Excellent time-management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  Solid understanding of construction contracts and project coordination processes.
  Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
• Prior field experience on construction sites is essential. Experience with Sandia Laboratories requested not required.
• Licensure: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or a valid New Mexico GB-98 (General Building) license.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or a valid New Mexico GB-98 (General Building) license. Preferred Proven technical background managing specialized laboratory builds (e.g., cleanrooms, containment labs, or advanced research facilities).
