Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on estimating, sales, and project management experience (W-2, salaried)

About Brown Contracting

Brown Contracting is a family-owned custom construction and remodeling company based in Kerrville, Texas. Since 2019, we've been building and renovating homes across the Hill Country with a focus on quality craftsmanship and honest communication. We're growing into larger remodels and custom new construction, and we're looking for a capable project manager to grow with us.

About the Role

This is a self-sufficient, high-responsibility role for someone who can take a job from first conversation to final walkthrough. You'll own your projects: selling and bidding the work, estimating, planning, ordering materials, coordinating subs, and keeping every job on schedule and on budget.

You'll report directly to the owner and work alongside our Senior Project Manager and Carpentry Project Manager, with clear systems in place (JobTread, daily check-ins, and a weekly team meeting) rather than micromanagement.

This is a salaried position with no punch clock and real flexibility in how you run your days. Most weeks run Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends when a client or deadline calls for it, such as meeting a homeowner on a Saturday or finishing a proposal Sunday night. If you like owning outcomes and being trusted to deliver them, you'll do well here.

What You'll Do

• Meet with prospective clients, bid and sell jobs, and write proposals
• Prepare accurate estimates and scopes of work
• Manage residential remodel and construction projects from start to finish
• Plan project schedules and sequence trades
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers
• Order and track materials so jobs stay on schedule
• Keep clients informed and handle change orders professionally
• Log daily progress and keep job records current in our software
• Walk jobs to verify quality and resolve issues quickly

What We're Looking For

• Estimating experience (takeoffs, pricing, proposals)
• Comfort selling and communicating with homeowners
• Experience in residential construction or remodeling project management
• Working knowledge of trades, construction sequencing, and building methods
• Strong organization and follow-through; you keep many moving parts straight
• Self-directed, reliable, and honest, with ownership of your results
• Personal vehicle, personal phone, and a valid driver's license
• Regularly on active job sites; able to walk uneven terrain and climb ladders
• Experience with construction software (JobTread, Buildertrend, or similar) is a plus, but we'll train the right person

Compensation & Benefits

• $60,000 - $75,000 per year, W-2, depending on experience
• Gas allowance (personal vehicle and phone required)

Alternative Arrangement
