The Program Manager will lead projects from initial pursuit and preconstruction through engineering coordination, procurement, construction, electrical installation, testing, commissioning, startup, and final closeout.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale industrial, electrical, EPC, manufacturing, process, mining, power, heavy civil, or self-perform construction projects, with a demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and electrical construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for multiple industrial and electrical construction projects.
  • Manage projects from preconstruction, estimating, and planning through construction, electrical installation, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
  • Oversee Project Managers, Electrical Project Managers, Superintendents, Electrical Superintendents, Project Engineers, and other project personnel.
  • Coordinate electrical construction activities with civil, structural, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, controls, and other project disciplines.
  • Provide oversight for installation of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, power distribution, conduit, cable tray, power and control cabling, grounding, lighting, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and construction documents.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with project specifications, client standards, NEC requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, schedules, productivity, labor performance, and profitability.
  • Maintain accountability for project and program P&L, margins, cost-to-complete forecasts, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Review project financials, cost reports, earned-value performance, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and project forecasts.
  • Identify construction, electrical, procurement, schedule, contractual, and financial risks and implement mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Oversee project controls, including CPM scheduling, cost control, forecasting, productivity tracking, and progress measurement.
  • Manage electrical procurement and long-lead equipment requirements, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, electrical distribution equipment, generators, VFDs, cable, and specialty electrical components.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and field operations.
  • Oversee subcontractors and self-perform construction operations, including electrical craft labor and field supervision.
  • Monitor electrical manpower, labor productivity, material usage, installed quantities, and schedule performance.
  • Manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, claims, notices, scope changes, and commercial issues.
  • Review electrical scope changes and support estimating, pricing, labor forecasting, and change-order development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, engineers, electrical subcontractors, vendors, OEMs, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in executive-level client meetings, project reviews, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions.
  • Support estimating, proposals, constructability reviews, project pursuits, and electrical scope development.
  • Participate in project handoff from estimating to operations to ensure alignment on electrical scope, labor assumptions, equipment, schedule, budget, and execution strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with company EHS, quality, electrical safety, contractual, and operational standards.
  • Promote compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, lockout/tagout, energized-work, and project-specific electrical safety requirements.
  • Develop recovery plans for projects experiencing cost, schedule, productivity, procurement, or electrical installation challenges.
  • Provide executive leadership with accurate reporting regarding program status, financial performance, electrical progress, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
