From the First Plan to the Final Handover
A construction project is only as strong as the planning, coordination, and decisions behind it. We’re looking for a Construction Project Manager who can bring structure to complex projects, keep teams working towards shared objectives, and turn project plans into successful delivery.
Working in Coatbridge, you’ll coordinate construction activities, manage resources, monitor performance, and maintain clear communication between the people responsible for getting the job done. This role calls for someone who can anticipate challenges, make informed decisions, and maintain high standards throughout the construction process.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
Programme and Delivery
- Establish project plans, delivery schedules, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Monitor progress against agreed programmes and coordinate corrective action when delays arise.
- Balance competing priorities to maintain momentum without compromising safety or quality.
Commercial and Financial Control
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure, forecasts, and cost variations.
- Review project requirements and identify potential commercial risks.
- Support procurement activities and coordinate resources in line with project needs.
- Maintain appropriate records of costs, changes, and contractual matters.
People and Site Coordination
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Set clear expectations, communicate priorities, and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Chair or contribute to project meetings and provide accurate progress updates.
- Address operational challenges promptly and maintain productive working relationships.
Safety and Quality
- Promote safe working practices and ensure project activities follow applicable health and safety requirements.
- Monitor construction quality against drawings, specifications, and agreed standards.
- Identify delivery risks, quality concerns, and potential compliance issues.
- Ensure relevant inspections, documentation, and corrective actions are coordinated appropriately.
Reporting and Project Close-Out
- Maintain project schedules, progress reports, risk registers, and key documentation.
- Track changes to project scope and communicate their potential impact.
- Coordinate completion activities, outstanding works, and handover documentation.
Your Professional Background
You’ll ideally bring:
- Demonstrable experience in construction project management or managing substantial construction work packages.
- A sound understanding of construction methods, site operations, and project delivery processes.
- Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, risk management, and quality assurance.
- An understanding of construction health and safety legislation and responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, organisation, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence using project planning tools, spreadsheets, and reporting systems.
A qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline would be advantageous. Relevant professional training or project management certification is also beneficial.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this position means maintaining clear project priorities, identifying risks early, managing resources responsibly, and helping teams deliver work to the required standards. Your ability to combine forward planning with practical decision-making will be essential.
Your Next Professional Challenge
If you enjoy taking ownership, coordinating people and resources, and solving the challenges that arise throughout a construction project, this opportunity could be a strong next step.
Bring your construction knowledge, leadership, and commitment to quality to a role where effective project management makes a tangible difference.
