What they need

Edikted is a rapidly growing, trend-driven fashion brand redefining the retail experience for the next generation. With an expanding footprint across the United States, we are committed to creating innovative, engaging, and high-quality retail environments that bring our brand to life.

As we continue to scale our physical retail presence, we are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and solutions-oriented Construction Project Manager to oversee the execution of new store construction projects from pre-construction through final turnover and store opening.

Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager will serve as Edikted's primary on-site owner's representative, responsible for overseeing the successful execution of retail construction and tenant improvement projects across the United States.

This role requires a hands-on construction professional who can effectively manage general contractors, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, maintain aggressive project schedules, and ensure construction quality meets Edikted's brand standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges, takes ownership of project execution, and develops actionable solutions to keep projects moving forward. This individual must be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, navigating complex construction environments, and delivering results against firm store opening deadlines.

This position is focused on construction execution, project oversight, and operational coordination. Contractor selection, purchasing decisions, budget approvals, and financial commitments are managed by designated company stakeholders and are not within this role's approval authority.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Planning & Readiness

  • Review architectural drawings, construction documents, specifications, and approved scopes of work to ensure project readiness.
  • Identify discrepancies, missing information, constructability concerns, and potential execution risks before construction begins.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, landlords, and internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding pre-construction items.
  • Verify landlord and shopping center requirements, permitting status, site access requirements, and construction prerequisites.
  • Conduct pre-construction site walks to evaluate existing conditions and identify potential challenges.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive master construction schedules, including critical milestones, dependencies, procurement requirements, inspections, turnover, and planned store opening dates.
  • Ensure all required documentation and approvals are coordinated before construction mobilization.

Construction Management & Field Oversight

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between Edikted, general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, landlords, and other project stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction progress to ensure alignment with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and company standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance, construction sequencing, field conditions, and project execution.
  • Conduct regular site visits, increasing frequency during critical construction milestones and the period leading up to store opening.
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction issues, scheduling conflicts, and operational challenges.
  • Coordinate with internal Real Estate, Store Design, Procurement, Facilities, and Retail Operations teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain flexibility to support construction activities during evenings, weekends, and other nonstandard business hours as project needs require.

Project Scheduling & Risk Management

  • Develop, manage, and continuously update detailed construction schedules and milestone trackers.
  • Monitor project progress against approved timelines, including critical-path activities and dependencies.
  • Identify potential delays early and develop practical recovery plans in partnership with contractors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the impact of construction issues, design changes, material delays, and site conditions on project completion dates.
  • Proactively escalate risks that could impact construction milestones, project readiness, or planned store openings.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining clear priorities, accountability, and execution standards.
  • Maintain accurate project records within Edikted's designated project management systems.

Procurement & Delivery Coordination

  • Partner closely with the Procurement Manager to establish material, equipment, fixture, and installation requirements based on construction sequencing.
  • Identify what materials and equipment are required, where they are needed, and when they must arrive to support project milestones.
  • Communicate procurement requirements and lead-time considerations sufficiently in advance to prevent schedule disruptions.
  • Monitor procurement dependencies and proactively flag potential delays or conflicts.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure sites are prepared to receive and install required materials and fixtures.
  • Support delivery and installation sequencing while maintaining clear accountability between Construction and Procurement teams.

Quality Assurance & Construction Standards

  • Ensure construction work complies with approved plans, specifications, applicable requirements, and Edikted's quality standards.
  • Perform quality inspections at critical stages of construction, including prior to the closure of walls and ceilings.
  • Verify proper placement and installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, structural backing, and other essential building components.
  • Identify workmanship deficiencies, material inconsistencies, and deviations from approved construction documents.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with contractors before deficiencies affect subsequent construction activities.
  • Maintain consistent quality expectations across multiple projects and markets.
  • Document significant construction concerns and communicate required corrective actions to relevant stakeholders.

Change Order Review & Coordination

  • Review proposed construction change orders to assess scope, necessity, supporting rationale, and execution requirements.
  • Determine whether proposed additional work results from design revisions, unforeseen site conditions, or work already included within the original scope.
  • Evaluate potential schedule impacts and identify opportunities to minimize disruption.
  • Provide professional recommendations to designated decision-makers regarding proposed changes.
  • Track outstanding change orders and communicate their status during regular project meetings.

The Construction Project Manager does not have authority to approve change orders, modify project budgets, or make financial commitments on behalf of Edikted.

Project Meetings, Communication & Reporting

  • Lead weekly construction progress meetings with general contractors and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute comprehensive written meeting summaries that clearly outline:
  • Progress against the approved construction schedule.
  • Work completed during the reporting period and activities planned for the following week.
  • Outstanding action items, responsible parties, and target completion dates.
  • Decisions and approvals required from Edikted.
  • Identified risks, delays, and proposed mitigation strategies.
  • Open change orders and unresolved construction issues.
  • Potential impacts to project milestones and store opening dates.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, including schedules, photographs, site reports, action logs, and status updates.
  • Communicate issues with recommended solutions rather than simply reporting problems.
  • Ensure stakeholders receive timely, actionable information necessary to support project execution.

Site Inspections & Punch List Management

  • Conduct site inspections throughout construction and document progress through photographs and written observations.
  • Maintain a continuously updated punch list identifying deficiencies and incomplete work throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assign responsible parties and target completion dates for each outstanding item.
  • Monitor corrective actions and verify satisfactory completion.
  • Increase follow-up frequency as projects approach substantial completion and store opening.
  • Escalate unresolved critical deficiencies that could compromise safety, quality, operational readiness, or opening timelines.

Project Turnover & Store Opening

  • Coordinate construction closeout activities to support seamless transition from construction to Retail Operations and Facilities.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence during critical pre-opening periods and opening week.
  • Monitor final inspections, required testing, regulatory approvals, and completion of outstanding construction work.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure store infrastructure, fixtures, equipment, and building systems are ready for operation.
  • Verify receipt of required closeout documentation, including warranties, operating manuals, inspection reports, as-built drawings, and other relevant records.
  • Track outstanding post-turnover items and coordinate their resolution.
  • Support successful, on-time store openings while maintaining Edikted's quality and operational standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in construction project management, field construction management, owner's representation, or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion and turnover.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, site operations, and contractor coordination.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate architectural drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and aggressive construction schedules.
  • Experience coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of construction quality control, site inspections, and punch list management.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify project risks, troubleshoot field issues, and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience leading construction meetings and preparing detailed progress reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and outside standard business hours based on construction schedules and critical project milestones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing retail construction, store development, or tenant improvement projects for national or multi-location retailers.
  • Experience with shopping malls, lifestyle centers, and commercial retail developments across multiple U.S. markets.
  • Familiarity with landlord construction criteria, permitting processes, and retail occupancy requirements.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience delivering retail construction projects against fixed opening dates.
  • Familiarity with construction project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting high-growth retail organizations with simultaneous new store openings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
