About us
DUNN INTERIORS NZ LIMITED is a well-established Auckland-based interior design and finishing company undertaking painting, interior improvements and renovation projects.
We are seeking an organised and capable Construction Project Manager to plan, coordinate and manage projects across our contracted Auckland sites, overseeing contractors, subcontractors, budgets, schedules and project delivery.
About the role
You will manage interior fit-out, refurbishment and renovation projects from initial planning through to completion and handover. Working closely with management, clients, designers, suppliers and tradespeople, you will ensure projects meet agreed specifications, budgets, timeframes and quality expectations.
Key duties and responsibilities
Plan, organise and manage interior fit-out, refurbishment and renovation projects across contracted sites throughout Auckland.
Review project briefs, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements to establish the scope of work, deliverables and completion requirements.
Develop project programmes, work schedules and milestones, coordinating the sequence of activities across multiple sites.
Prepare project budgets and resource plans, and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
Assess labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements to ensure resources are available when needed.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, and recommend suitable providers based on price, capability, availability and quality.
Coordinate contractor and subcontractor appointments, scopes of work and agreed delivery requirements within delegated authority.
Direct and coordinate site teams, contractors and subcontractors, clearly communicating responsibilities, priorities and deadlines.
Arrange procurement and delivery of materials, fittings and equipment, checking that purchases meet project specifications.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, resource use and compliance with approved plans.
Coordinate painting, plastering, flooring, cabinetry, finishing and other renovation trades to maintain an efficient workflow.
Liaise with clients, designers, consultants and specialist trades to resolve design queries and practical construction issues.
Identify project risks, delays, resource shortages and cost overruns, and implement appropriate corrective action.
Manage proposed changes and variations by assessing their effect on scope, cost and timing and obtaining approval before proceeding.
Coordinate site health and safety arrangements, including inductions, hazard reporting and communication between contractors.
Coordinate required consents, inspections and specialist sign-offs with the relevant professionals and authorities, where applicable.
Monitor quality standards, identify defective or incomplete work and arrange timely rectification.
Maintain project records, including programmes, quotations, purchase orders, variations, meeting notes, progress reports and site photographs.
Review contractor progress claims and supplier invoices against completed work and agreed terms, and recommend payment to management.
Organise final inspections, defect resolution, project handover and close-out documentation, and report project outcomes to management.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants must have:
* At least three years of relevant experience in construction project management, renovation project coordination, interior fit-out management or a closely related role; and/or
