Ready to take the lead on high-profile commercial flooring projects across Long Island and the five boroughs? Sterling Floor Designs—a privately held leader in commercial flooring for over 45 years—is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Commack team and grow with the company.

This is a field-based role: most of the job happens on-site, not behind a desk. We’re looking for a personable, motivated, and organized individual who can see projects through from start to finish—coordinating crews, managing schedules, and keeping every job on budget and on track.

A vehicle and willingness to travel throughout Long Island and all five NYC boroughs are required.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in scheduling subcontractors and ceramic installation crews
• Coordinate with management on manpower needs across jobsites
• Meet with supervisors to review upcoming installs and plan accordingly
• Visit jobsites to proactively identify potential issues, and discuss delays and site conditions with supervisors
• Conduct pre-install walkthroughs to confirm manufacturer guidelines are being followed
• Review project drawings and scopes of work, and flag anything requiring a change order
• Confirm installers on-site have all the materials and tools needed to complete the job properly
• Relay material shortages to the office and schedule pickups and deliveries
• Help ensure projects meet budget goals
• Provide detailed daily progress reports and keep project trackers up to date
• Conduct post-install walkthroughs at the completion of each project
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, including with support departments
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience
• Ability to read blueprints and finish schedules
• Knowledge of resilient, carpet, ceramic/tile, and floor prep
• Comfortable with Excel and project management software
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to run multiple jobs at once
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
