What they need

ABOUT US

COBE Construction, Inc.

is a group of Co

mmercial B

uilders and E

ngineers that takes great pride in delivering exceptional value on every project we build. We are an innovative commercial construction company with proprietary software and advanced project management tools that help our teams work smarter and deliver better results.

We are fortunate to work with many of the leading high-tech companies in Silicon Valley, along with clients across a variety of technical commercial environments. Our success is built on a can-do attitude, strong relationships, teamwork, and a family-like culture

where people genuinely care about doing great work.

We also believe that great careers are built by creating an environment where people can work hard, enjoy what they do, and still have a life outside of work.

COBE offers experienced construction professionals the opportunity to grow, take ownership, develop their leadership skills, and build long-term relationships with great clients and teammates.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a COBE Construction Superintendent, you will lead the field operations of one or more commercial construction projects.

You will be the key field leader responsible for organizing the work, coordinating the trades, maintaining quality and safety, and keeping the project moving toward successful completion.

Importantly, you will not be expected to do it alone.

Our Superintendents work closely with an experienced Project Manager, Project Engineer, and broader project team that provides support with planning, documentation, procurement, scheduling, project administration, and client coordination. COBE also provides modern technology and project management tools designed to make your job easier and give you better visibility into what is happening on the project.

This structure gives you the opportunity to focus on what you do best: leading people, managing the site, solving problems, coordinating the work, and building a great project.

You will have significant ownership of the field operation, along with the authority and support needed to make decisions and keep the project moving. We are looking for a Superintendent who takes pride in their work, enjoys leading a team, and wants to be part of a company where experienced construction professionals are trusted to do their jobs.

YOUR ROLE Field Leadership & Project Execution

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day field operations and serve as the primary field leader for assigned projects.
  • Plan and coordinate daily construction activities to keep the project progressing safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and in-house labor on site.
  • Maintain project safety, quality, schedule, cleanliness, and overall site organization.
  • Conduct regular site walks and inspections to identify potential issues early and keep the project moving.
  • Review drawings and specifications in the field and identify conflicts, missing information, or potential problems before they impact the project.
  • Coordinate sequencing and logistics between trades to minimize conflicts and downtime.
  • Plan daily work activities for in-house labor and assist with field work when needed.
  • Document existing conditions and project progress using digital photos and COBE's project management tools.
  • Help identify potential schedule or construction issues early and work with the project team to develop solutions.
  • Support the Project Manager and project team through punch list and project closeout.
  • Take pride in delivering a clean, organized, high-quality finished project.

Communication & Coordination

  • Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and tailgate safety meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports and meeting minutes using COBE's project management systems.
  • Develop and communicate three-week lookahead schedules and coordinate upcoming work with the project team and subcontractors.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed of field progress, potential delays, conflicts, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with clients regarding service shutdowns, access, traffic, egress, and work in occupied spaces.
  • Coordinate inspections and interface with building officials and government agencies as needed.
  • Assist with obtaining Certificates of Occupancy and other project approvals.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and COBE team members.
  • Represent COBE professionally and help create a positive experience for the client and everyone working on the project.

Safety & Quality

  • Make safety a daily priority and actively promote a strong safety culture on every project.
  • Conduct regular site walkthroughs and address unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensure subcontractors and field personnel follow OSHA requirements and COBE safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout construction.
  • Pay close attention to quality and workmanship and address issues before they become larger problems.
  • Ensure occupied areas remain clean, safe, and functional for our clients.
  • Participate in COBE's ongoing safety training and continuous-improvement efforts.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced Superintendent who takes ownership, leads by example, and enjoys building things and working with people.

You will be successful at COBE if you:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Commercial Construction Superintendent

    .

  • Have strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards

and are committed to continuing your safety education.

  • Can confidently read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Have the experience and judgment to identify conflicts, missing information, and potential construction issues before they become problems.

  • Are organized and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving construction environment.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, subcontractors, designers, inspectors, and your project team.

  • Enjoy leading people and coordinating multiple trades toward a common goal.

  • Are a proactive problem solver who looks for solutions rather than simply identifying problems.

  • Can work effectively under demanding schedules and in technical, client-focused environments.

  • Take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and professional job site.

  • Are comfortable using modern communication and project management technology and are willing to learn new tools.

  • Welcome feedback and are willing to collaborate with your Project Manager and project team.

  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, integrity, reliability, and a commitment to building a long-term career.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and are comfortable wearing company-provided COBE apparel.

  • Understand that construction sometimes requires extended hours, nights, or weekends when project conditions require it.

MOST IMPORTANTLY

We are looking for someone who wants to own the field and lead the job—not someone looking for a company that simply hands them a set of plans and a list of problems.

At COBE, you will have an experienced project team behind you, modern tools to help you stay organized, and the opportunity to make a real impact on how our projects are built.

BENEFITS

We believe our people should be rewarded for the value they bring to the company and given the support they need to build a successful career.

  • Competitive, stable hourly compensation
  • Performance-based Bonus Plan
  • Opportunity for professional and personal growth
  • Complete health plan
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Company-provided smartphone
  • Company vehicle and gas card
  • Modern technology and proprietary tools that support our project teams
  • A collaborative, family-oriented company culture
  • Opportunities to work on technically challenging commercial projects with leading Silicon Valley clients
