Our work is guided by our GRIT values—Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Team and a commitment to quality, safety, and exceptional client service.

The Opportunity

The Quality Control Assistant serves as the field-facing execution arm of Hedrick Brothers' Quality Control Program. Working under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, this role supports project teams by conducting inspections, verifying installations, documenting findings, and helping ensure work is completed in accordance with project documents and company quality standards.

What You'll Do

Field Quality Inspections

  • Perform daily jobsite inspections and quality control reviews.
  • Review plans, shop drawings, specifications, and approved submittals to verify compliance.
  • Inspect installations and materials for conformance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Verify materials received onsite match approved submittals and are properly stored and handled.

Documentation & Issue Resolution

  • Document non-conforming work and communicate findings to project teams and the Quality Control Manager.
  • Track corrective actions and conduct follow-up inspections as needed.
  • Identify field conditions that may require RFIs and provide recommendations to project leadership.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate project documentation and as-built records.

Team Collaboration

  • Support pre-installation meetings, mock-up reviews, manufacturer meetings, and project training sessions.
  • Build positive relationships with subcontractors, project teams, design professionals, owners, and inspectors.
  • Assist project teams as needed to ensure work is properly supervised and executed.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 4 years of construction field experience.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices and CSI/AIA construction divisions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Procore is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

This position is based primarily on active construction sites and requires standing, walking, climbing, and navigating various jobsite conditions for extended periods. The role may involve exposure to weather, noise, machinery, dust, and other construction-related hazards. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and safely perform inspections in both office and field environments.
