What they need

Join Marous Brothers Construction as a Safety Coordinator and be the on‑site champion for a safe, productive jobsite.

Your Day-to-Day:

You lead the jobsite each day by walking projects, spotting hazards quickly, and keeping crews aligned with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and company safety expectations. You update and execute SSSPs, JHAs, and risk assessments while staying close to field operations, coaching teams through high‑risk work like fall protection, trenching, crane activity, confined spaces, and hot work. You energize the team through orientations and toolbox talks, build a strong safety mindset, and step in with authority when unsafe conditions appear. When incidents or near misses happen, you drive root‑cause analysis and track corrective actions to prevent repeat events. You partner with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors to keep everyone moving in the same direction. Using safety software and Microsoft 365, you log inspections, monitor trends, and deliver clear, actionable reports that elevate jobsite safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
  • Willing to travel
  • Willing to work in Cleveland and/or Columbus
  • Willing to relocate
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification
  • Prior experience supporting commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction projects
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements (SWPPP, spill prevention, hazardous materials)

What You'll Need:

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and applicable state regulations
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP)
  • Experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and risk assessments for construction activities
  • Proven ability to perform routine and unannounced site safety inspections and audits
  • Knowledge of high-risk construction activities including fall protection, trenching & excavation, crane operations, confined space, and hot work
  • Experience delivering new-hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and site-specific training
  • Ability to investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events and complete root cause analysis
  • Strong documentation skills including safety reports, corrective action tracking, and regulatory logs
  • Ability to monitor subcontractor safety compliance and enforce company safety expectations
  • Confident communicator capable of coaching field personnel and exercising stop-work authority when needed
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage safety efforts across multiple active projects
  • Proficiency with safety management software, mobile inspection tools, and Microsoft Office
