Construction Safety Supervisor (1 Year Contract)

About the role

Responsible for monitoring and controlling construction, maintenance, installation, and project activities to ensure compliance with company HSE standards, legal requirements, and applicable safety regulations. Promote a safe working environment by identifying hazards, assessing risks, and ensuring effective controls are implemented for contractors, employees, equipment, and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Control site activities and contractors/subcontractors to ensure compliance with company HSE standards, legal requirements, and approved work methods.
• Conduct routine site inspections and intervene when unsafe acts or unsafe conditions are identified; stop work when there is an imminent risk of serious injury.
• Review contractor HSE documents before work starts, including risk assessments, JSA/JHA, method statements, emergency plans, competency records, and required certificates.
• Control the Permit-to-Work (PTW) process and verify that required precautions are in place before work begins.
• Manage and monitor high-risk work, including confined space entry, work at height and fall protection, hot work, lifting/crane operations, scaffolding, and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs).
• Verify energy isolation/LOTO requirements for contractor, maintenance, installation, and commissioning activities where applicable.
• Conduct contractor safety induction, toolbox talks, and other HSE training/communication as required
• Evaluate contractor work practices, tools, machinery, PPE, and safety equipment for compliance and suitability.
• Monitor active construction and project sites to verify that agreed controls remain effective throughout the work.
• Coordinate safety inspections for project commissioning, machine safety devices, guards, interlocks, and other critical protective systems before handover/start-up.
• Perform other HSE duties assigned by the HSE Manager in support of site objectives and legal compliance.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health (Occupational Health & Safety), Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• Qualified/registered as a Professional Safety Officer (or equivalent qualification) as required by applicable Thai law.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction, factory projects, maintenance, installation, or contractor safety management.
