Construction site M&E ENGINEER (Mandarin Speaker)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on M&E Engineer to join our building construction team. The successful candidate will oversee on-site Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works, coordinate subcontractors and consultants, and ensure that all installations meet project specifications, quality standards and construction schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily M&E site works, including ACMV/HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and ELV systems.
• Review and interpret M&E construction drawings, shop drawings and technical specifications, including Chinese-language drawings.
• Coordinate with M&E subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and Civil & Structural (C&S) and Architectural teams.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship, material deliveries and manpower to ensure timely project completion.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality and safety requirements.
• Coordinate technical submissions, RFIs, material approvals, inspections and as-built drawings.
• Identify and resolve site coordination issues, drawing discrepancies and installation defects.
• Coordinate M&E testing, commissioning, defect rectification and project handover.
• Assist the Project Manager in project planning, cost control, variation orders and overall site coordination.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–6 years of relevant M&E construction experience, preferably with a main contractor on high-rise building or factory projects.
• Able to communicate effectively in spoken Mandarin Chinese and coordinate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Able to read, understand and interpret Chinese-language M&E drawings and technical documents.
• Strong knowledge of M&E site installation, construction coordination, quality control and testing and commissioning.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, shop drawings, project specifications and site documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and BIM/Revit knowledge will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, proactive and able to work independently on-site.
