Construction Site Superintendent

Job Overview

Colpitts Developments is seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to support our growing portfolio of multi-unit residential and commercial construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers and Engineers, the successful candidate will oversee safe, well-managed project sites while keeping work on budget and on schedule. This role requires experience coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, enforcing regulations and the National Building Code, communicating with project stakeholders, and resolving on-site conflicts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Overseeing on-site operations, coordinating crews, and ensuring work progresses according to project plans and deadlines.
• Enforcing safety regulations, conducting inspections, and addressing hazards to maintain a secure work environment and compliance with occupational health standards.
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and labourers, ensuring materials arrive on time and labourers complete the work according to quality standards.
• Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and project documents to ensure construction aligns with design requirements and engineering standards.
• Troubleshooting on-site challenges, resolving conflicts, and adapting plans to address unexpected delays or issues.
• Maintaining clear communication with project managers to provide progress updates and address concerns.
• Tracking expenses, approving invoices, and managing resources to keep the project within budget.
• Ensuring proper documentation, including permits, inspection reports, and daily logs, to support project compliance and accountability.

Qualifications

• Familiar with construction software program Procore
• Advanced knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail for quality control and problem solving
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills to manage crews and subcontractors
• Proficiency in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Excellent communication skills and proficient in the English language
• Critical thinking and adaptability to address on-site challenges and unexpected delays
• Problem solving and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality project performance

The successful candidate will have several years of construction industry experience in a site leadership role, such as Site Foreman, Construction Supervisor, or Field Superintendent.

Pay: $60,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
