Construction Superintendent

Required Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent in commercial construction.

· Ability to read & implement construction documents (plans, specifications, schedules)

· Leadership, communication & organizational skills, both written and oral.

· Ability to travel to jobsite as needed.

· Ability to travel/stay out of town.

· Computer skills

· Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening

· Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies

· Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues

· Understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations

· Great problem-solving and decision-making skills

· Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking

Responsibilities

· Implement & oversee onsite construction activities & maintain schedules.

· Supervise – Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers & site personnel.

· Coordinate inspections with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).

· Maintain daily safety compliance, including weekly safety meeting & regular site inspections.

· Communicate effectively with project managers-project coordinators-architect-engineer & owner or owner representatives.

· Prepare daily field reports-time cards-schedule updates-RFI’s & email correspondence.

· Maintains clean & organized site.

· Conduct / attend coordination meetings.

· Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.

· Create schedules for workers and subcontractors.

· Hire additional laborers & subcontractors and assign work accordingly.

· Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
