Construction Superintendent

General Superintendent | Commercial Civil Construction

Location: Project-based; travel required in the Gulf Coast

Compensation: $130,000–$150,000, depending on experience

The Opportunity

Vader-Rey Recruiting is working with our client to find a General Superintendent to lead commercial civil construction projects. The work includes underground utilities, earthwork, site development, and paving.

This role calls for someone who has already spent about five years leading work at the superintendent level. You will set the direction for field teams, hold crews and subcontractors accountable, and keep projects moving safely through changing site conditions. You must be willing to travel as project assignments change.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily field operations across multiple crews and subcontractors, setting clear priorities for supervisors and foremen.
• Plan work ahead so crews have the people, equipment, materials, and access needed to stay productive.
• Coordinate the sequence of underground utilities, grading, earthwork, concrete, and asphalt paving with the project team.
• Establish production goals, monitor progress against the schedule, and adjust field plans when conditions change.
• Develop foremen and crew leaders through clear direction, regular feedback, and accountability.
• Address performance, quality, and safety concerns promptly and consistently.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and owners to resolve field issues and communicate progress.
• Review plans and upcoming work for constructability issues, conflicts, and potential delays.
• Maintain a jobsite culture where crews take ownership of safe work and quality results.

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately five or more years of experience leading projects at the superintendent level in commercial civil construction.
• Strong working knowledge of underground water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems; grading and earthwork; and concrete or asphalt paving.
• A track record of directing multiple crews and managing subcontractor performance.
• The ability to plan beyond today’s work, make sound field decisions, and communicate clearly with both crews and project stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel and work at different project sites as assignments require.

Compensation & Benefits

The position pays $130,000–$150,000, depending on experience , with a benefits package, a generous vehicle allowance , and gas and work-related expenses covered .
