Construction Supervisor

This busy custodian organisation require additional expertise for their Capital Works (principally building projects) programme. Based in the North Sydney area, you will report to the Manager, Projects for assigned building upgrade projects. These will involve libraries, community facilities & amenities and include building refurbishments, roofing, services and facility upgrades.

Your duties will include:

• Managing/directing/supervising works, quality control oversight, conformance inspections and checking works against approved designs, specifications, and standards;
• Overseeing site set‑out, verification, and as‑constructed records to support infrastructure delivery;
• Quality assurance testing including following Inspection and Test Plans, level set out and control, pavement testing, concrete testing and work as executed drawings;
• Managing operational and project works in accordance with applicable WHS legislation and Council policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.
• Check all items of contract work as executed and report any defects or non-compliance with the contract documents and report on non-conformance.
• Measure quantities of work and, where necessary, authorise the rates charged by the Contractor.

You will have:

• Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in the management of site‑based construction work with the ability to read and understand working drawings, specifications etc.
• Strong understanding of the need for and application of environmental controls on work sites.
• Working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing detailed estimates.
• High level of communication, interpersonal and consultation skills
• Competent in use of MS Office programmes
• Certificate IV qualification in Building & Construction, Engineering or related field or relevant experience
• Class C Driver's Licence
• White Card (General Construction Induction card)

You will effectively be the client's eyes and ears on active sites, utilising your communication and IT literacy using tablets and MS for daily reporting on safety, progress, environmental issues and quality checks.

This role is an Agency contract position paying good rates of $75/hr + Super.Initially the role is for a 12-month contract, with potential direct employment later next year and is only open to candidates with full working rights in Australia.
